A short introduction about myself  (Me on the right and Middy on the left)

My name is Stephen Gibson, I have been workingal profession ly in gardening for the last 27 years. I have recently started hedge laying three years ago. I came into hedge laying mainly because as a gardener, I found  i was always busy during March - Oct but in the winter months, work was always patchy, but at its worst non existent. So feeling something had to be done to change this, I started to set about learning hedge laying. The BTCV were very useful in giving me the basics, this led me on to getting my first hedge laying job for a local customer near to where i live. I made a good first effort, and he was very happy with the end result. To date the hedge is growing well. Other work soon followed ,and to date i have been laying hedges in our local area for the last three years.  This now takes care of the winter months. I also am a fully qualified gardener with twenty seven years experience, with two city and guilds, and a National Certificate in Horticulture. As well as the above Services, I am now involved in building garden structures for clients gardens, these are made from locally sourced willow and hazel which are made into beautiful garden obelisks and trellis work to give that rustic country garden look, much loved nowadays and in the past times. If you are interested in any of the above mentioned Services please feel free to contact me, by phone or Email.

Ps.  I must say a big thank you to my friend Middy for giving me support when i first started out hedge-laying, his experience and knowledge is being handed on to me rather than being lost in time. He has been  hedging and thatching all of his working life, and is retired now, but still comes along to see how his apprentice is getting on. He has taught me well, and this shows because clients are always pleased with there hedges ,and the finished  result .Which has so far brought me follow on work.

With thanks and gratitude to middy
