<image:caption>I believe there would have been livestock in these fields at the time the hedges were laid, but sadly no more, just a grass field now or occasionally broad beans. UPDATE - Speaking to Middy a couple of months ago, he told me that the hedges were laid during WW2 as they needed to increase the food yield to feed people, so the hedges were cut back and laid to make the fields wider therefore increasing the field size for more crops to grow. Sorry to say that my friend Middy recently passed away peacefully from a mix of different ailments, which ultimately and collectively took its toll on him , He will be very sorely missed by me and all who knew him. RIP My Freind.</image:caption>
